I graduated in Physics from the Federal University of Alagoas and am currently pursuing a PhD at the University of São Paulo (Brazil) in the Atmospheric Physics Laboratory. My research focuses on the Amazon Forest carbon cycle, employing remote sensing technologies to study changes in aboveground biomass and forest productivity. I investigate the impacts of tropical forest degradation, land use change, and climate change on these dynamics. Prior to my PhD, I completed a Master's degree in Physics, during which I researched greenhouse gases in the Amazon Forest using remote sensing techniques. During the Master the aim was to evaluate CO2 and CH4 remote sensing products through comparison with ground-based measurements.
